Business conditions in the USA are improving
According the Tatum survey all but two indicators show an upward trend already! The lowest point of recession was reached in November 2008, and since then the condition is improving. Only capital expenditure and employment are still weak or getting slightly weaker. This is similar to the message what Mr. Prof. Holmberg from MIT carried over in his NYC breakfast briefing. The brighter side is gaining momentum!

March 2009 jobless situation in the USA
Totally 663 thousands jobs were lost in the USA during March.
The US unemployment rate climbed to 8,5% that is the highest in 25 years, but the true rate might be closer to 16% when also people who have quitted to look for a job are added.
