SAYL-LFAS 65th year of operations with an expert panel
The whole world seems to celebrate the victory of Mr. Obama and the message of HOPE he has proclaimed. The issues to get solved are a mountain high and it will take time to solve them. With global cooperation, determination and will that might be possible. Let’s hope, and work for it together!
Thanksgiving Party was a great success

FAC1932 celebrated with AmCham Thanksgiving at traditional Hotel Kämp on November 13th.
Mr. Teppo Rantanen opened the event, H.E. Ambassador Barrett thanked AmCham and gave a painting from Arizona as a present to AmCham for a good work done.
Minister Jyrki Katainen told us about HOPE and the confidence we need to have in respect to financial crisis in the world - he said that it is difficult to deal with a virtual (psychological) problem - only trust in market mechanism will return us back to stability.
FAC1932 Chairman Vesa Vihavainen thanked the audience of 90 persons for continueing the tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving started by FAC1932 in Finland already in November 1935 at Hotel Kämp. AmCham’s Managing Director Mrs. Kristina Helenius thanked the audience, giest speakers and the AmCham team. It was a great event and truely much joy and fun. Thank you!
FAC1932 board visited ambassador Barrett

H.E. Mrs. Barbara Barrett received FAC1932 board for a friendly visit with coffee and tea at US Embassy on November 13th, 2008, in Helsinki. We discussed about Arizona, Montana, flying, friendship between our nations, and the role of FAC1932. We agreed to make a limited study in Finland among the youth about interest to live, study and work in the USA, and work on improving relationships on personal, school and city level. This falls in line with the history of FAC1932.

Mrs. Barrett is a pilot and has flown also Hornet fighter in Finland with Mach 7 speed. This is really not for everyone - she is an exceptional person!
We might also learn from Mrs. Barrett the skills of riding - she has a horde of horses on her ranch in Montana.
She put some words very wisely as an advise for all of us: always try to give, take, learn and have fun! These words fit nicely to the mission of FAC1932 - business, culture and fun.

Thank you Mrs. Barrett for a very interesting discussion and warm words you have said!
